Timeshares in Utah are governed by the Utah Timeshare and Camp Resort Act, which is found in Title 57, Chapter 19 of the Utah Code. The statute includes information on registration requirements for timeshare projects and salespersons, as well as advertising regulation. This may protect a timeshare owner or purchaser if they are in need of legal action for a timeshare.

Purchaser’s Right to Cancel a Timeshare Contract in Utah

According to statue 57-19-12, a timeshare buyer has a rescission period of five business days in Utah. Timeshare law states that this right to cancel a timeshare contract must be disclosed in the timeshare contract, and the rescission period begins on the day following the day on which the contract is executed. The seller or developer has 30 days to refund any financial payments made by the seller.

Utah Timeshare Sales Laws

Statute 57-19-14 declares that no person shall sell or offer a timeshare contract or plan within the state of Utah unless that person is a registered salesperson.

Timeshare Sales Fraud

Time share laws in Utah declare that it is unlawful for any seller to present or offer a timeshare contract to a purchaser containing false, misleading, or incomplete information. Those developers in violation of this clause will face a Class A misdemeanor under 57-19-10.
